Do you Know ?,  What is Termite ?

Termite or white ants as they are commonly known live in communities forming colonies. They are found in soil and damage wooden and building materials Every colony has a queen who reproduce in the thousand and surrounded by workers ants who guard the colony and look for food which include wood and cellulose materials Which they eat and digest.
The termite attack building through tiny cracks and crevices in the foundation, floor walls causing severe damage to human habitat and property by destroying furniture wooden frame windows beams and also paper product and important document.

How do they Attack and Damage our Property ?

The termite enter building and structure undetected from below damaging the foundation and spreading to upper floors through joints wall cavities and the inter space of brick and stone work, electrical parts and also spread through drainage line. This way not only wood but even the RCC columns and beams cannot resist termite attack. Iron when rusts expands and provides channels for termite to enter upper floors. Some species of termite are highly destructive to wood work which eat up and hollow out wooden structure. Some are even capable of penetrating the sheathings of electrical wires thus causing short circuit and fire

Post Construction Anti Termite Treament:

  Method:

Stage 1

Treat the internal wall of the building as nearest as possible foundation wall  of surface are. Drill the 12mm hole of 45 cm deep will be made at 30cm internal walls ( junction of floor & wall) in every room/area and pour the chemicals emulsion.(@ 1 ltr per hole.)

Stage 2

Treat the entire leveled of surface (before PCC/ Flooring/After BBC.) Drill the 12mm hole of 45 cm deep will be made at 60 cm center to center in every rooms/area and pour the chemicals emulsion. (@ 1 ltr per hole.)

Stage 3

Treat the entire area  (After Flooring / Laying )   spray  system in scurting devises in every rooms/area and spraying  the chemicals emulsion. .(@2.25 ltr per meter.)

Stage 4 Treat the All Electrical wooden boxes & wooden frame will   be treated with wood preservative chemicals with Dusting  System. . (@ 0.5 ltr per meter)

Stage 5

Treat the external wall of  the building as nearest as possible foundation wall surface The hole of 45 cm deep will be made at 30cm external walls of the building and pour the chemicals emulsion.(@ 1 ltr per hole.)

Upper Floors :
Termite damage on upper floors occure as termites travel from ground through lift wells or ceasing of electric wiring, telephone cables
utility pipes etc. Wood paneling on staircases and wall false ceiling kitchen and bathrooms are particularly vulnerable.

To stop and prevent the movement of termites from the ground, holes are drilled from inside your premises at the junction of the wall and the floor at an angle of 45 degrees. These holes are drilled along the side of the entire outer wall at approximately 300 mm (12 inches) intervals.

The chemical mixture is then poured into these holes to soak the masonry, thus creating a chemical barrier to resist termite. Premises on the ground level only are recommended to get floor area treated. The drilling operation is generally not carried out on the floors above the ground level because the RCC slabs act as a mechanical barrier and the termites cannot penetrate them. Holes are drilled at the base of the walls.

The woodwork in contact with the masonry in a building is particularly susceptible to termite infestation, such as door and window frames, wall panels, wardrobes, shelves, wooden cupboards, etc.

Protective treatment for these are as is provided as follows:

Holes of diameter 3-4 mm (approx.) are drilled slanting towards the core of woodwork at a distance of 500 mm (20”). Pesticide are then poured into these holes & sprayed on all vulnerable unpainted woodwork.

Check Up Visits:

After the initial major treatment, our operator will visit your premises for a check up once in a year (12 - months), after prior intimation by telephone. Necessary treatment will be carried out in case of any re-infestation. You can also call us in case of reappearance of termites during the contract period.

 Warranty:

The warranty for Anti – Termite (Post Construction) treatment varies for 1 - 3 Years, depending upon residential or commercial site. The warranty stands for whole premises (i.e. Floor, Ceiling, P.O.P, Electric-Points, Wood Work, etc.). Any re-infestation of termites during the warranty period is treated without any extra charge.

Preventive Treatment:

Prevention is always better that cure.

Ideally a building should be treated before it is constructed. If not, a preventive treatment can also be done in individual flats, offices and shops.

Spraying of termite resistant chemicals such as Creosote (black chemical). Wood Guard or Term seal does not prevent termites. The chemical is hardly absorbed by the wood. Even so called termite resistant ply wood can be damaged by termites.

In post construction, termites can be prevented by creating a chemical barrier along the wall and floor junction. If you are going to change the flooring please call us after you fix the new flooring, but before putting the skirting

NOTE:
S.R.P.C. takes utmost attention and takes special care for built up houses, the Interiors, Paint/Polish work. The applicators are trained in such manner that they will treat the premises without disturbing or damaging any finished work.
